New features and enhancements

macOS Tahoe support

This release adds support for macOS Tahoe 26.

Security

  • Windows: To enhance security, the FileMaker Server installer now includes an option to disable IIS short filename enumeration by setting NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation in the Windows registry. This prevents attackers from using the tilde character to discover hidden files and directories.

OData enhancements

  • Enhanced OData capabilities now offer improved data connectivity and synchronization between FileMaker Server, Claris Studio, and Claris Connect, streamlining cross-platform integration.
  • OData metadata endpoints can now be filtered, improving response time for databases with a large number of table occurrences. Clients can now request specific metadata subsets instead of the entire schema, significantly reducing load times for complex databases.
  • OData metadata endpoints now include table and field comments when provided by users. This enhancement enables better interaction with AI models and improves the overall data discovery experience for OData clients.
  • FileMaker OData API now allows you to use webhooks to send automated notifications to web applications. These alerts are triggered by specific data events in your database tables, based on criteria you define.
  • OData responses now include ROWID and ROWMODID system fields when retrieving table data without a $select query if the “Prefer: fmodata.include-specialcolumns” header is added to the https request. This provides clients with immutable row identifiers, improving data mapping and conflict resolution.

Updated libraries and packages

  • The OpenSSL library has been updated to version 3.5.1 LTS.
  • Apache Commons Text has been upgraded to version 1.14.0.
  • Apache Tomcat has been upgraded to version 10.1.44.

Addressed issues

Security

  • A path traversal vulnerability in FileMaker Server Admin Console allowed users with minimal privileges to enumerate arbitrary folders on the server by modifying directory paths.
  • An authorization bypass vulnerability in FileMaker Server Admin Console allowed administrator roles with minimal privileges to access administrative features such as viewing license details and downloading application logs.
  • Security vulnerabilities could lead to unauthorized access and remote code execution, including cross-site scripting (XSS) in a FileMaker WebDirect custom homepage and path traversal during script execution.

FileMaker WebDirect

  • FileMaker WebDirect users encountered delays of 1 to 1.5 seconds when tabbing through fields on layouts containing popover buttons.
  • In FileMaker WebDirect on mobile devices, tapping calendar icons in date fields with drop-down calendar controls didn’t show the drop-down calendar.
  • Setting the Stream option to On for the Generate Response from Model script step while using the Perform JavaScript in Web Viewer script step caused FileMaker WebDirect to quit unexpectedly.

OData

  • In some cases, Claris Studio couldn’t display tables from FileMaker Pro files because OData metadata requests failed due to referencing a non-existent column.
  • OData incorrectly interpreted text field data that resembled timestamp formats as actual timestamps instead of treating them as strings.
  • OData requests using the “verbose: true” header incorrectly returned FileMaker Server version and environment information in error responses.
  • The OData service quit unexpectedly when retrieving metadata from databases containing external value lists that referenced missing files or value lists.

General

  • Linux: FileMaker Server quit unexpectedly when viewing a layout containing multiple container fields with PDF content, due to an issue with PDF thumbnail creation.
  • Linux: The fmsadmin command-line tool quit unexpectedly with a segmentation fault when executed by users who weren’t members of the fmsadmin group.
  • Windows: If the backup destination was on a drive other than the FileMaker Server installation drive, importing backup schedules failed during an overwrite installation of FileMaker Server 2025 over FileMaker Server 2023.
