What is SSL certification?
With SSL certification, you enable a secure data connection between you and your website visitors via your website. You may be familiar with the term SSL, as these certificates have been used by banks and other organizations for a number of years. However, other websites are also increasingly implementing SSL certificates. In an SSL environment, your URL will show https:// instead of http:// and display a padlock icon.

Since January 1, 2017, Google and other search engines have been issuing warnings about websites that do not send their data via a secure HTTPS connection.
Your website will no longer open correctly on some devices and major browsers such as Chrome and Firefox, causing you to lose visitors and potential customers.
Since January 1, 2016, there has been a law requiring the reporting of data breaches.
Google gives websites with an SSL certificate priority in search results over websites without an SSL certificate. This makes it easier for potential customers to find you.
With an SSL certificate, you offer your website visitors a trusted online environment. This lowers the threshold for sending information to you via the web.
Make sure that your SSL does not have Symantec certification (anymore), so that it remains trusted in Chrome and Firefox.
